Jack Green showed he is in fine form as he finished fourth in Sweden, as Stockholm hosted the sixth leg of the 2017 Diamond League.
With a second Diamond League win in four days for Norway’s Karsten Warholm, Green ran a tidy race out in lane eight to cross the line with a time of 49.29, another London 2017 qualifying standard.
Green commented: “It was so blustery but I am really pleased with it. I stupidly hit hurdle ten but this shows I can compete in this environment. Hopefully I can push on from here.
“I am confident going forward. That is another [London 2017] qualifying time there and to come fourth in a Diamond League is not so bad.”
In the men’s 400m Rabah Yousif crossed the line in sixth place with a 46.06 clocking, with Bahamian Steven Gardiner taking the win in 44.58.
In the women’s 800m Lynsey Sharp equalled her position from Oslo, shaving some more off her season’s best with a time of 2.00.19. Eighth on the day, Sharp has lowered her season’s best three times in three weeks and is looking to be rounding into great form at just the right time, with the World Championships Team Trials and London 2017 fast approaching.
A double false start in the men’s 110m Hurdles saw both Andrew Pozzi and South African Antonio Alkana disqualified from a race eventually won by Orlando Ortega in 13.09.
